Why Buying a Bed In-store Is Always Best
The internet is a great place to start if you’re on the hunt for a new bed. The World Wide Web provides untold options; and all are but a few clicks away, rather than a few streets. However, once you’ve narrowed your search down a bit and you arrive at the business end of the buying process, there is simply no substitute for purchasing a bed in-store. We discuss why in this post.
Why Buy In-store?
To find a bed that is right for you, there are a number of different factors that need to be taken into consideration. Among the most significant of these are
- Support,
- Comfort,
- Size
- How a mattress aligns to your body.

These elements can all be extremely difficult to judge without having first tested a bed out. By not buying in a shop, you take a huge risk with your money and, potentially, your health. It is for this reason that Kaymed recommend beds are purchased in-store.
How to Test Out a Bed
To properly test a bed, you should first locate a shop that stocks your preferred model. Having headed down to the outlet and removed all uncomfortable clothing, along with jewellery, wallets, belts and shoes, lie on the bed in your usual sleeping position (you may want to alert a sales assistant to your intentions before doing this.)
You should remain on each bed that you try for at least 10 minutes, as you do so, try to pay attention to the comfort and support offered by the bed, as well as how it aligns to your body. It can be difficult to remember which you like most if you try lots, so perhaps take a notepad or make notes on your phone.
Buying a mattress can take time, so have patience and don’t be afraid of trying out multiple models and even retailers. And remember: before making any final decisions, you may want to sleep on it.
