Super King Size Bed – What Are the Dimensions of this Bed?
The super king size bed is the largest standard size of bed currently available on the market in the UK. Its great size makes it perfect for larger people, couples or just for those who enjoy a lot of room while they sleep. But what size actually is this bed? In this post, that’s exactly what we intend to uncover. Read on for more information.
Super King Size Bed Measurements
As the largest standard size of bed on the market in the UK, you’d expect the super king to be pretty big and, true to form, it is quite a significant unit. The bed measures a very generous 180 centimetres in width and a far from pokey 200 centimetres in length.
Taking these metric figures and converting them into imperial measurements, we get the dimensions of around 5 feet and 11 inches in width and a length of just over 6 feet and 7 inches.
Clearly a bed of such size will tend to dominate the room in which it is located, so before purchasing a super king it can be a good idea to consider whether this bed is absolutely necessary for you.
Do You Need a Super King Size Bed?
If you want to find out whether you could benefit from a super king, there are a couple of rules of thumb that you can use to determine your ideal size of bed. A bed should be at least 10 centimetres longer than the tallest person sleeping in it. The bed should also allow you to lie flat on your back with your hands behind your head and elbows out without reaching the edge of the mattress or touching anyone else in the bed. Obviously, if you just fancy an abundance of room whilst you slumber, few beds fit the bill quite so well as a super king size bed.
