Roll Up Mattress Support

Roll Up MattressWhen lying on a roll up mattress correct support depends upon your

  • Weight (a lighter person will often prefer a different mattress to a heavier person)
  • Height (if you are of taller disposition, you don’t want limbs overhanging the mattress when you are in your normal sleeping position
  • Preferred sleeping position.

Ideally the roll up mattress should mould into the shape of your body while at all times remaining supportive. It is important that when you lie on your side your spine should be in a horizontal position. On the roll up mattress you should be able to turn over relatively easily. Typically, the more that you weigh, the firmer mattress tension you will need. It is important to note that you don’t necessarily need a hard bed if you are suffering from a bad back.

Roll Up Mattress Comfort

By its very nature comfort is very subjective. A roll up mattress that is hard to one person will be too soft to another. Some people prefer the sensation of being cocooned within their bed; others prefer to feel on top of the bed when they lie on it. It often appears that back sleepers may prefer a more firmer feel than those people who are side sleepers. Within Roll up mattresses there are lots of different ‘feels’ around so it is best to try them out thoroughly and choose what works best for you and your partner.

Important: there is no industry wide standard to compare firmness ratings from one manufacturer to the other so one manufacturer may classify a mattress as firm whilst the same mattress may be classified by a manufacturer as soft.
