Temperature is a hugely important part of our lives.

As we wake up in the morning, our body heat gently rises, helping us to feel more alert. In the hours preceding bedtime, meanwhile, the body’s internal thermostat drops a little, causing us to feel drowsy.

While we’re awake, these natural fluctuations in temperature are regulated by the body; however, during deep sleep this function becomes subdued and body heat is more heavily influenced by external factors.
